If you live in any of our communities that are not served by a public library (Unalakleet, Elim, an White Mountain have public libraries), you are eligible to take part in Bushbooks. This is a program that will send you library books on a either a regular basis or when requested for your personal use.

One of the real advantages of joining this program is that you then have a Fairbanks Library Card. With that library card you can download audiobooks from Listen Alaska Overdrive, which is the company that provides the downloads, has come a long way in providing books that work on Mac computers. If you tried this program out before, try it again. The advances just since last fall are amazing.

You can join online, add that you would like to have a library number in your special requests and you should have your card number in less than a week. Also please mark on your application if you want 'books on request' only if you are doing this to get access to the Listen Alaska program.
