Welcome to all new BSSD staff members for the 2001--11 school year. We put a great deal of time and energy into recruiting the very best educators available, and we look forward to making your move and transition as smooth as possible.

This is the place to seek answers for all those personal and professional transition questions you have. Things you are probably wondering about include things like the logistics of moving to rural Alaska, BSSD's curriculum or instructional routines, and details about the specific communities you will be working and living in very soon.

We will do our best to have district office and site principals, as well as experienced district teachers checking this area regularly during the summer so your questions are answered in a timely manner.

There is no such thing as a silly question! - Pease ask anything that is on your mind, as it is likely others are wondering about the same thing.

In addition, unlike this year, we will leave this forum running once the school year starts so you can easily keep in touch with other new staff members, and compare experiences with the people you will meet at Welcome Wagon 2010 in Anchorage, or at the New Teacher Inservice in August.
